I am running for West Area Board of Director because out of the 50 or so BOD members, only a few are African-American. I believe we need more representation. The Board of Directors is more than who runs your area meetings. It’s a part of a larger group of UTLA members who make the fiduciary decisions pertaining to our union. And you know the old saying, "If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu." So I want to be that voice that represents us!

I've been with LAUSD since '91. Today, I'm a Restorative Justice Teacher helping students with social emotional learning.

I volunteered to work our Taste of Soul Booth spreading the word about our Beyond Recovery Platform.

I have won many awards over the years. The most rewarding is the acting and video production with students.

What an honor it is to participate in the Huntington Park Christmas Parade as the Health and Education Commissioner Chair.

Serving the community is very rewarding.

Santa Claus was the hit of our parade.

Com. Betty is our beloved HP resident.

Sheryl Lee Ralph and Mayor Eddie Martinez at a past HP parade.

Wishing your family a great Holiday season!
